Aqua Pro successfully completed another demanding project: the installation of a brackish water reverse osmosis system at the luxury complex Sidari Secret Gardens Apartments in Corfu. This project presented high technical requirements due to the poor quality of the groundwater and the client’s need for consistently excellent water quality for all daily uses across the property.

The Challenge: Very High Iron Content

The water from the site’s borehole contained iron levels above 3 ppm, making it unsuitable for use without advanced treatment. Excessive iron not only creates aesthetic issues (discoloration, staining) but also causes serious technical problems in plumbing networks and mechanical equipment.

The challenge for Aqua Pro’s team was to ensure the effective removal of iron and to install a reliable brackish water reverse osmosis system capable of fully meeting the needs of the complex.

Advanced Water Treatment: Coagulation & Settling

The first stage involved applying a specialized coagulation process with the use of selected chemicals to release and precipitate the iron.

The water was then directed into large settling tanks, where solids were removed before undergoing the main treatment through the reverse osmosis unit.

This multi-stage process ensures exceptionally low residue levels and outstanding water quality suitable for all of the complex’s requirements.
