Multi Stain Remover is specially formulated to remove stains caused by iron, copper, manganese, and cobalt from swimming pool surfaces. Most staining problems are caused by improperly balanced pool water.
General Instructions
- Before application, adjust the pH to 7.0, ensure that all sanitizer levels are at 0 ppm (mg/L), and backwash the filter.
- Important precautions for coloured marble finishes and printed liners: Do not allow the product to come into direct contact with the pool surface. Depending on the severity of the stain, use one of the following methods:
A. Dissolve the product in a clean plastic container and distribute it evenly around the pool while the pump and filter are running.
B. Place the product inside a fabric sock attached to a telescopic pole and hold it close to the stained area. - For other suitable surfaces, apply the product directly to the stained area or distribute it evenly around the pool while the pump and filter are running.
- Important: Add Lo-Chlor No More Metal to the pool water after the stain has been removed. This product removes dissolved metals, helping to prevent stains from returning.
- Run the pump and filter for at least 24 hours. Thoroughly rinse the filter and then resume normal filtration.
- This stain treatment reduces both pH and total alkalinity. After treatment, the pool water must be rebalanced.
- When restoring the water balance, increase the total alkalinity first. This must be done gradually over several days, by no more than 20 ppm per day. A sudden increase may cause metal ions to precipitate out of the solution, resulting in stains forming again.
Do not swim during treatment. Swimming may resume only once the pool water has been properly balanced and disinfected.
Stain removal treatments may cause the water to become cloudy. If this occurs, use Lo-Chlor Miraclear Clarifier to help restore water clarity.
