Dichlor 56% is used for superchlorination (shock treatment) of swimming pool water. It is available in granular form, dissolves rapidly upon contact with water, and quickly increases the free chlorine concentration.
This process destroys microorganisms and bacteria in the water. It is used when opening a swimming pool or under adverse conditions, such as heavy rainfall, high bather loads, and other situations that increase contamination.
Weekly shock treatment is recommended for public swimming pools.
Its pH is near neutral and does not significantly affect the pH of the pool water.
