Lo-Chlor Algaecide is a highly durable, long-lasting algaecide for swimming pools. It helps control and prevent algae growth in pool water for up to 6 months, making it ideal for spring pool opening as well as summer and winter maintenance.
General Instructions
If algae are present before application, it is recommended to treat them before adding Lo-Chlor Algaecide. Shock the pool with a suitable chlorine shock treatment and run the filtration system for 24 hours.
- Ensure that the pool is not being used for swimming before applying the product.
- Adjust the pH to 7.0–7.2.
- Thoroughly clean the pool by brushing the walls and floor, then vacuum these areas and clean the filter as usual.
- Following the dosage table, add the required amount of product to water in a suitable, clean plastic bucket. With the circulation system running, distribute the solution evenly throughout the pool.
- Continue circulating the pool water for 24 hours. Do not add any other chemicals during this period.
- Maintain the pH between 7.2 and 7.6.
- Swimming may resume after one complete turnover of the pool water, usually within 4–5 hours.
Warning
Excessive copper concentrations during dosing may stain hair and swimwear and discolour pool surfaces.
Professional Recommendation
For optimal pool water quality, we recommend using Lo-Chlor Algaecide in combination with one of our phosphate removal products, such as Lo-Chlor Starver® or Starver® X.
Removing phosphates before adding the pool algaecide helps maintain the product’s effectiveness for a longer period.
